MASSAGE THERAPY + ENERGY BALANCING

Our massage therapists and energy healers are experienced in feeling blockages and imbalances in bodies at the physical, mental, emotional, and energetic level. Some techniques employ extremely gentle pressure while others are rigorous and firm, and it takes skill to recognize the appropriate touch needed for the individual. And if you are enrolled in our yoga therapy program, your therapists will work together to discuss the ideal treatment plan.

  • Sound Healing + Therapy

Sound bath (sound healing) is a healing modality that uses various instruments and tools such as crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, rattles and shakers, singing/voice and tuning forks to activate, move blockages and create deep relaxation in the mind and body. Sound waves are matter so the vibration creates physical movement in the body allowing the nervous system to flow more freely.

  • CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle energy-based bodywork based on tapping into the nervous system and promotes deep states of relaxation and body release. “Cranio” comes from cranium and “Sacral” from Sacrum, the top and bottom of the nervous system and where all sensation in the body is housed. Effective with pain management, anxiety, stress and other illness, generally people leave feeling very deeply relaxed and peaceful.

  • Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD)

A specific light-touch gentle technique created to enhance the immune system. MLD helps collect and move the lymph fluid in the body, so that the lymph can deliver nutrients and remove and clean the toxins and debris that can compromise health. MLD can dramatically increase the rate of lymph flow by using slow rhythmic strokes at the top surface of the skin to promote healing and regeneration of cells. This massage is highly beneficial for the nervous system, inducing relaxation, lowering blood pressure, promoting better sleep, and reducing tension. If the lymph gets backed up in the system, this can lead to water retention and swelling. MLD is used to manage and decrease swelling in the body. MLD is a preventative modality used to keep the body healthy and balanced.

  • Oncology Massage

Oncology massage focuses on restoring the body and energy to relieve symptoms from the side effects of chemotherapy, radiation, and/or surgery. Great care is placed in identifying appropriate pressure with slower gentle strokes, giving special regard to surgery and treatment sites and lymph nodes. Most notably it helps calm the body to stimulate the parasympathetic response (slowing heart rate, activate digestive function and glandular activity) of the nervous system to allow the body to naturally initiate the healing and recovery process.

  • Prenatal Massage

Pregnancy is an exciting time of life, where the body is undergoing amazing physical transformations. Some of these changes can be challenging for women, and massage is a wonderful modality to nurture both the body and soothe the child growing within. Massage tends the body by addressing specific side effects that accompany each trimester of pregnancy, including, back pain, sciatica, swelling and circulation issues.

  • Pranassage®

Pranassage® is a creative synthesis of yoga and bodywork that produces profound mental and physical relaxation in the receiver. The intention is relaxation, and does not require any previous experience of Yoga or level of flexibility. The “magic” comes from the manipulation of prana, the body’s intelligent life force. Through touch, pressure, and traditional yoga postures, Pranassage offers a unique opportunity to inquire into this energy, to resynchronize the mind and body, and to fully experience the present moment.

  • Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage uses oil to relieve muscle tension, knots, adhesions or scar tissue. It can both soothe and invigorate the body and is effective in relaxing the muscles and increasing the oxygen in the blood, helping the lymphatic system to remove the toxins from the body, cleansing the body from the tissues of lactic acid, uric acid and other metabolic waste. It also helps in reducing the pain, stiffness of joints, lowering the blood pressure, reducing the headaches, reducing the stress, promoting speedy recovery from illness/injury and providing greater flexibility. Massage also reduces stress and fatigue and promotes an overall feeling of well-being in individuals.

  • Tui Na

Tui na massage comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Tui na means “push pull”. It makes use of rhythmic compression techniques along the meridians of the body to release blockages and establish harmonious flow of Qi (energy or prana). The practitioner can then use range of motion, traction, with the stimulation of acupressure points. These techniques can aid in the treatment of both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, as well as many non-musculoskeletal conditions. Tui na is about balancing the yin and yang to promote healing within.
